Mieko Kawakami is the author of the internationally best-selling novel Breast and Eggs, Heaven, which was shortlisted for the 2022 International Booker Prize, and All the Lovers in the Night. She has received numerous prestigious literary awards in Japan, including the Akutagawa Prize, the Tanizaki Prize, and the Murasaki Shikibu Prize. She lives in Tokyo.
